TRAXXAS  NITRO SPORT

 Opening the box
Last week My UPS man was kind enough to deliver a NITRO SPORT to my house.
The Nitro sport is built well and easy to get started with. out of the box it comes ready to run with nothing else need but 12 AA batteries and some gas.

Getting Started
Once your Sport is out of the box you will need to feed it several batteries. 8 in the Controller and 4 in the car it selve to power the servos.

Breaking in the Motor
Grab yourself some a traxxas aproved Fuel. TRAXXAS "TOP FUEL" is the best way to go. not only does it ensure proper amounts of lubrication in the fuel it is also nicely bottled and well priced. Start with a 10% fuel dureing the break in proccess and follow the boks break in tips CLOSELY. You may think that you have good perfomance on your own, but if you follow the books advise you will be surprised how well the engine will perform. One thing I found was that the IDLE was set WAY to high after the engine was tuned. Turn it Counter clockwise a whole lot till it will sit still while idle.

TIRES
the nitro sport looks Purty with it's nicly spiked rear tires but the reality of it is that these spikes will wear out almost imediatly leaveing you with no traction at all. This is not a problem since the tires are easily and afordable to change. Go to your local Hobbie shop and pick up a pair of DIAMOND raceing tires for all around raceing or a pair of Lowprofile tires for strickly pavement.
You may be satisfied by changeing only the back tires but you might want to change the front tires as well for more responsive turning.
Tire Tip: The Nitro-sport is very fond of Power-Slides, you will find yourself doing this often, especialy on loose gravel. The Tires will often come loose from the hub, secure the tires with a strong glue, I use Power-Poxy because it is Flexible and Strong. I found Power-Poxy at SEARS.
